JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was given a prison sentence of between 35 and 70 years in Jackson County on Thursday after he was convicted of first degree criminal sexual conduct.
The jury last month only took ten minutes to deliberate before handing down its verdict against 29-year-old Brad Allen Risner in connection with a February 2010 assault.
He is already serving a decade in prison related to a Kalamazoo County sexual assault.
The Jackson County prison sentence will be served concurrently to his Kalamazoo County sentence.
The charge was brought as part of the state’s Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI).
During the course of the Kalamazoo County investigation, ten other women were identified as being alleged victims of Risner between 2005 and 2018.
Those investigations led to a third case in Calhoun County, where he’s charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for assaults committed in 2006. That case is not yet set for trial.
