BETHEL TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Voters in Bethel Township will be asked on Tuesday to renew a millage for five years that would help pay for fire protection and equipment.
Bethel Township is one of six township along with the City of Bronson that are part of the Bronson Area Fire Association.
The millage would be levied between 2022 and 2027 if approved.
Voters will be asked to approve the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Bethel Township be increased by an amount not to exceed 0.8 mills which is 80 cents per $1,000 of taxable value.
The eight tenths of a mill increase will raise about $26,000 in the first year the millage is levied.
