COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Fort Wayne woman entered guilty pleas to two charges on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after she was caught being in possession of ecstasy and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit during a traffic stop on I-69 last May in Ovid Township.
According to Branch County Court documents, 39-year-old Evelyn Louise Niemeyer was a front seat passenger in a 2007 Pontiac that was stopped by the Michigan State Police for speeding.
Niemeyer entered guilty pleas to being in possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance and unlawful transportation of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
She is scheduled to be sentenced on December 6.
According to court documents, Niemeyer admitted to the State Police trooper that she had a 9mm pistol under her seat and that she did not have a concealed weapons permit from any state.
As police were placing Niemeyer under arrest, she admitted to buying eight ecstasy/MDMA pills and they were in her purse. The pills were found in a baggie. Court document state one was field tested and showed positive for ecstasy/MDMA.
