COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Noon Rotary Club has announced nearly $50,000 in donations to various groups that benefit the community in addition to funding for scholarships.
The Club raises the money with proceeds from its annual Rotary Variety Show, which first took to the stage more than 60 years ago.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the show didn’t happen last year. However, this summer, the Coldwater Rotary Club’s 100th Anniversary event held outside in the Tibbits Plaza raised $44,000, which surpassed the proceeds realized from any of the previous Rotary shows.
Jeff Paarlberg, last year’s Club president, detailed the major donation for 2021 when he spoke at last Tuesday’s Noon Rotary meeting.
He said the beneficiary this year is the kayak launch at Rotary Park.
Planning is underway for the 2022 Rotary Variety show at the Tibbits Opera House scheduled for February 24, 25 and 26.
