QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Bronson and Centreville advanced to the semifinals of the M.H.S.A.A. Division Three Girls Volleyball District Tournament at Quincy on Monday night.
Bronson defeated Union City three games to nothing by scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-4.
Bronson Coach Jean LaClair said, “We started out a little tight, but the girls kept pushing and digging and allowed good things to happen. Kaylee Withington had a great night from the service line with 6 aces and also led the team with 14 digs. All around we hit well, with contributions from everyone.”
The Vikings advance to face Reading at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The season ended for the host Orioles in the second match on Monday night as they lost to Centreville in three games by scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-8. Centreville will face White Pigeon Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.. The district finals are set for Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Coldwater found out Monday night who they will face in the Division One District Tournament at Battle Creek Central.
Sturgis advanced to a semifinal match with Coldwater as the Trojans defeated Kalamazoo Loy Norrix three games to nothing by scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-16.
Sturgis will face Coldwater Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in the first D1 District Semifinal at Battle Creek Central, with coverage on AM 1590 and fm 95.5 WTVB beginning at 4:50 p.m.. In the second District Semifinal at 6:30pm, it will be Battle Creek Lakeview against the host Bearcats. The district finals will be held on Thursday night.
Tekonsha advanced to the semifinals at the Division Four District Tournament at Hillsdale Academy as they defeated Pansophia Academy in three games by scores of 25-14, 25-10, 25-16. Hillsdale Academy also advanced with a three to nothing win over Litchfield by scores of 25-15, 25-9, 25-12.
Hillsdale Academy will face Will Carleton Academy Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. followed by Tekonsha against Camden-Frontier at 7:00 p.m..
