COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was arraigned on Wednesday afternoon in Branch County District Court on a charge of first degree criminal sexual conduct with the alleged victim being under the age of 13.
35-year-old Adan George Rodriguez was arrested by Coldwater Police after they were notified Tuesday and conducted an investigation into an alleged Monday incident at a local residence.
The investigation included an examination of the alleged 11-year-old female victim at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
According to Branch County court documents, the youngster told police about an alleged incident on Monday and that these kinds of alleged incidents had been going on for three years.
A cash or surety bond of $200,000 was set and a not guilty plea was entered on behalf of Rodriguez. If he should post bond, Rodriguez was ordered not to have any contact with the alleged victim and he is to have no unsupervised contact with any minor child.
A probable cause hearing was set for November 16 with a preliminary exam scheduled for November 23.
