LAWTON, MI (WTVB) – After winning their first post-season game in ten years last week, the Union City Chargers will try to win a district title for the first time since 2001 on Friday night when they play at Lawton in the M.H.S.A.A. Division Seven Football Playoffs.
The Chargers are 6-4 after winning four straight. The streak includes a 24-0 shutout of Niles Brandywine last Friday at rainy and muddy Alumni Field.
Lawton is 10-0 and has outscored their opponents 549-88. The Blue Devils have also recorded five shutouts this season.
Friday night’s winner advances to the regional round next week to play either Ravenna or Muskegon Catholic Central.
Game time Friday night is 7:00 p.m.. Coverage on AM1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB begins at 6:30 p.m..
