AMBOY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Two persons were killed Friday morning when a semi truck and a box truck collided at the intersection of Pioneer and Territorial Roads in Hillsdale County.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash which was reported at 9:19 a.m.
Hillsdale County Sheriff Scott Hodshire told the Hillsdale Daily News the two fatal victims were in the box truck. The driver of the semi was apparently uninjured.
The sheriff’s office has identified the two men as 31-year-old Joshua Freeman of Sylvania, Ohio and 19-year-old Tyler Joyner of Monroe.
The semi-truck was driven by 40-year-old Todd Brigle of Alvordton, Ohio and a third vehicle, a 2020 pickup truck that was struck after the two larger trucks collided, was operated by 67-year-old Kathleen Reifel of Fremont, Indiana.
Reportedly, the box truck operated by Freeman was traveling westbound on Territorial Road when it entered the intersection striking the semi-truck.
