COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Kellogg Community College Foundation announced on Friday there were $23,000 in total awards to 24 student recipients of the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Promise Scholarship for the 2021-22 academic year.
This year’s recipients of the scholarship include:
Dental Hygiene: Alexys Clark, of Quincy; Madison Hoard, of Union City; and Heidi Murphy, of Coldwater
Nursing: Rasha Alisaid, of Coldwater; Veronica Arroyo, of Coldwater; Baylee Breese, of Hastings; Haleigh Harper, of Coldwater; Jami Hull, of Charlotte; Jamie Lyons, of Union City; Angelique Midkiff, of Coldwater; Emma Moore, of Jackson; Kayla Mullineaux, of Union City; Email Ramos Nunez, of Coldwater; Harley Otis, of Quincy; Aubrie Rabideau, of Coldwater; Jennifer Smith, of Coldwater; Jasmine Spencer, of Union City; Gerardo Torres, of Quincy; Desiree Waltz, of Sturgis; Abigail Weddle, of Quincy; and Alexys Wolfinger, of Bronson
Radiography: Nicole Adams, of Coldwater; and Haila Omer of Coldwater
Industrial Trades: Jake Mittelstadt, of Coldwater.
With an initial three-year grant of $60,000 in 2019 from the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club and Foundation, the KCC Foundation is administering this scholarship program to allow students an opportunity to complete their educational goals and receive financial support along the way. To date, the KCC Foundation has made 67 scholarship awards from this fund.
To be eligible, scholarship applicants must either reside in Branch County or have graduated from a Branch County high school or home school; demonstrate financial need; and be accepted to or enrolled in one of the designated K.C.C. health or skilled trades programs:
Funds for the program have been secured for an additional four years due to gifts from the Thomas Bott Donor Advised Fund, the Hal and Lillian Creal Fund, the George and Kathie Babcoke Trust, Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Century Bank and Trust, ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital and Clemens Food Group, as well as support from members of the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club and its Foundation.
More than $350,000 has been raised towards a $500,000 goal to fund the Promise Endowment in order to insure the long-term sustainability of the program.
