STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has partnered with Sturgis Hospital to offer a free Flu Shot Clinic on Thursday.
The drive through clinic will be held at the Grobhiser Professional & Medical Building, on the Sturgis Hospital campus, at 600 S. Lakeview Street Thursday, November 11 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m..
Pre-registration is not required. Flu shots will be free to the first 50 participants. This clinic will not have the high dose flu vaccine available. Those aged 65 and older should make an appointment with their primary healthcare provider, local pharmacy, or the health department.
Health Officer Rebecca Burns says, “We encourage everyone to get their flu shot, especially with the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Influenza and COVID are spread by the same mechanism, droplets produced when a person coughs, sneezes, or talks. We encourage you to cover your cough and sneezes, wash your hands often, socially distance and wear a mask when you cannot socially distance. Influenza cases were significantly reduced in the 2020-21 season due to the prevention strategies used for COVID and the number of residents who received flu shots.”
