UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – With the weather forecast calling for winds gusting up to nearly 40 miles an hour, the Village of Union City was unable to fly its large American flag downtown as they normally do in honor of Veterans Day.
While the village could not put the flag up, they want to extend their gratitude to those who have served and to those who continue to serve to keep our country safe.
Veterans Day has presented some challenging weather conditions in recent years.
It was two years ago in 2019 when an early winter storm dumped nearly eight inches of snow on Branch County.
