UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – What has been a challenging November for the Union City School District continues.
The entire school district was forced to shut down on Friday. It was stated on the district’s Facebook page that the closing was “due to unavoidable staff absences and the lack of available substitute teachers.”
The closing included all in person and virtual classes. Buses to the career center were still running.
Union City High School had been on virtual learning this week due to what was called by the district as a concerning level of illness.
The Union City Elementary and Middle Schools still had in-person instruction.
All of the schools in the district were shut down November 2 due to a large number of staff members who were absent with illness.
