COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Special Land Use Permit request for a proposed 312 unit Multi-Family Residential development on almost 20 acres along North Willowbrook Road was approved by the Coldwater Planning Commission on Monday night.
The Special Land Use Permit was needed because the development north of the NCG Cinemas is in in a C-4 General Business District.
Coach Road Capital of Spring Lake recently bought over 18 acres of land from the City of Coldwater for about $460,000 at the site of the proposed development.
Chad Bush, who was representing Coach Road Capital and Clemens Development, said the proposed development would help address the need for affordable housing in Coldwater.
Bush said they want to get into the ground as soon as they can.
Plans call for 10 new three-story buildings, a one-story clubhouse with a swimming pool and eight garages. There would be parking for 551 vehicles.
The development will consist of 174 one bedroom units and 138 two-bedroom units.
The proposed plans for the development can be viewed on the City of Coldwater’s web site at www.coldwater.org as part of the Planning Commission’s meeting packet.
