THREE RIVERS, MI (WTVB) – The Southwest Enforcement Team along with deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s office, Michigan State Police troopers from Marshall and two State Police K-9 teams conducted four hours of what were called high-intensity drug interdiction on Wednesday.
Authorities say the efforts were meant to target illegal activity in City of Three Rivers.
Over a period of four hours, uniformed officers conducted eight traffic stops and talked with 11 people.
During those traffic stops, officers conducted six K-9 searches.
Those searches turned up cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, a 45 caliber semi-automatic handgun stolen out of Portage and 50 rounds of ammunition.
Along with the seized items, uniformed officers made six warrant arrests and generated six additional charges that will be forwarded to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office.
Officers also cited some suspects for suspended driving, no insurance, no vehicle registration and several equipment violations.
