COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Legg Middle School boys basketball teams took three out of four games against Pennfield on Thursday night with two of the victories coming in overtime.
The eighth grade A team remained undefeated for the season with a hard fought 44-41 overtime victory over Pennfield which improved their record to 6-0. Julian Thompson led the Cardinals with 10 points. Austin Downs added nine points while Owen Tappenden had seven points.
The eighth grade B team only had six players available as they lost to Pennfield 24-20. Luke Stevens led Legg with eight points while Michael Wright had five points and ten rebounds.
The seventh grade A team improved to 5-1 as they defeated Pennfield 48-38. Landon Dirschell led Legg with 18 points. Draycen Foster had 11 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and four assists. Joseph Hayward had nine points and seven rebounds.
The seventh grade B team defeated Pennfield 26-23 in overtime on the Cardinals home court. Dylan Smith led Legg with 10 points while Rylan Edwards had six points. Drew VanDerPuyl grabbed five rebounds Austin Stepp had eight steals.
