Robert Charles “Bert” Walker, 52, of Bronson passed away unexpectedly at home with his wife and son at his side.
A celebration of Bert’s life will at take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the First Congregational Church of Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler officiating. Interment will follow at Matteson Township Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Bronson on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Bert was born July 26, 1969 to Edward and Rhea (Burritt) Walker, Sr. in Coldwater, Michigan. At a young age he attended Dayburg Christian School in rural Quincy. He graduated from Coldwater High School with the Class of 1988. Bert grew up in Girard where he made many friends for life.
April 4, 1992 he married LeAnn Hoag at Dayburg Baptist Church in Quincy, together they shared 29 years of marrage.
He worked for Bernard Friend Farms in Girard and Guardian Insulation in Albion for 26 years. Bert’s passion was farming with his dear friends at VanVorst Farms in Bronson for 28 years, where he made wonderful memoires with his family and friends. He was a kind and caring person who was a jokester and loved giving people a hard time. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He lived for hunting with his son and father-in-law, fishing, tractor pulls, racing, farming, collecting toy tractors, spending time with his family and friends, but most of all, anything to spend time with his son and best friend, Dakota.
Surviving are his wife LeAnn Walker of Bronson, his son Dakota Walker of Bronson, his mother, Rhea Walker of Girard, his father-in- law, Stub (Janet) Hoag of Coldwater, his sister, Lisa (Greg) Fleming of Tekonsha, his brother, Ed (Shawn) Walker, Jr. of Union City, his brother-in-law John Yingling Sr., his sister-in-law Tammy Hoag, several nieces, nephews , aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, Ed Walker, Sr. and his sister Robin Yingling.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice or the family.
