COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch I.S.D. Superintendent Kris Jenkins says their masons have begun the brickwork as part of the Branch Area Careers Center project.
She says it should take about a month to get all of the bricks in place so you should not be alarmed that the bricks don’t match the existing building, that will take place once the staining is complete in the spring.
The Careers Center project includes renovations and an addition that would modernize students’ learning environments for generations to come.
Jenkins says once finished, the addition’s exterior will match the existing building.
She says the current brick-making technology does not allow for precise color matching; therefore, the new brick needs to be stained and this can only be completed when the ambient temperature is between 40 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
Questions about the details related to the project can be directed to Jenkins at jenkinsk@branch-isd.org.
