COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education chose Bob Steel to fill a vacancy on the board during a special meeting on Monday night.
The board also interviewed Jessica Singer to fill the vacancy which was created on November 5 when Steve Rutz resigned.
Rutz was recently appointed as Branch County Treasurer.
Steel is a graduate of Coldwater High School and is a parent of a current Coldwater student.
He has a background in business management and operations.
Steel is currently serving on the City of Coldwater Recreation Board, the Coldwater Rotary Club’s Board of Directors and is also on the United Way of Branch County Board.
He will serve out the balance of Rutz’s term which expires at the end of 2022.
The seat will re-open for the November 2022 election. Whoever is elected will serve a six year term.
