COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted on Thursday to bring forward to next week’s meeting a request to allow Corrections Officers at the Sheriff’s Department to carry over their personal and sick time to 2022.
Commissioner Jon Houtz said the one time carryover is being requested due to staff shortages and extended illnesses which caused Corrections Officers to work extended hours.
County Administrator Bud Norman said those affected would have one year to take advantage of the carryover.
Sheriff John Pollack said this has nothing to do with vacation time.
Formal action by Commissioners on the request is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
