Kimberly Marie (Fosdick) Macklin, 65, of Quincy passed away peacefully Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall after a fearless battle against Covid.
A gathering of family and friends will be held for Kim on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
She was born December 31, 1955 to Larry and Mary (Maxey) Fosdick in Dowagiac, MI with her five siblings. In 1966 Kim moved to Quincy with her family and graduated from Quincy High School in 1974. On July 6, 1974 she married her high school sweetheart Terry D. Macklin in Coldwater and he survives.
Kim’s working career consisted of many jobs but her favorites were homemaker and paraprofessional at Jennings Elementary School where she retired in 2016 after 21 years of dedicated and caring service. Throughout her career Kimberly was able to touch the lives of many children, co-workers, and friends; but her greatest achievement was her family.
She was an extremely devoted wife, mother, and grandmother with an unbelievable passion for her family. She knew just exactly how to make a house a home, from her daily routine of vacuuming all the way to showering her family with unconditional love. Kim just simply loved to spend time with her family whether it was vacationing up north, in Florida, or just hanging out at the lake. S
he also enjoyed attending dance and Zumba classes at the Senior Center. Kim was talented at arts and crafts and also had an aptitude for keeping things neat, tidy, and organized. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, Terry Macklin of Quincy, she is survived by her children Jacki (John) Govier of Coldwater, Tony (Ashley) Macklin of Union City, Jeff (Heidi) Macklin of Coldwater; her mother Mary Fosdick of Dowagiac, MI; her siblings Steve (Rose) Fosdick of Onekama, MI, Sal (Don) Ball of Coldwater, Kris Worrell of Dowagiac, MI, Lori (Jimmy) Sikorski of Fremont, IN; her grandchildren Abby, Lincoln, and Alyvia Govier, Zaiya and Zadyk Macklin, and Bailey and Brinley Macklin; and her many loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her father Larry Fosdick and her younger brother Perry Fosdick.
Memorial donations may be directed in Kim’s name to Jennings Elementary School. 44 E. Liberty St. Quincy, MI 49082.
