BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County got the snow which was forecast by the National Weather Service on New Year’s Day but not as much as was predicted.
There were reports of two to four inches of snow throughout the area after forecasters had predicted the possibility of four to six inches of total snowfall.
The snow moved in at about 3:30 pm Saturday afternoon and continued to about 5 am Sunday morning.
Drivers had to use caution on the slippery roads. Speeds on I-69 were down to 35 mph but traffic was reduced because of the New Year’s holiday.
At least six property damage crashes and slide offs were reported in Branch County on Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
