COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners will have a new Chairperson in 2022.
By a 4-1 vote during their organizational meeting on Tuesday afternoon, Tim Stoll was selected as Chair, succeeding Randall Hazelbaker.
Jon Houtz nominated and voted for Hazelbaker; the other four commissioners voted for Stoll, who was nominated by Leonard Kolcz.
Kolcz will serve as Vice Chair once again; he was nominated by Commissioner Tom Matthew, and no other nominations were received.
In other business, the Commissioners decided to continue to meeting on the second and fourth Tuesdays but they moved the start time ahead a half hour to 4:30 p.m..
Work sessions will continue to be held on the Thursdays before a regular meeting.
Tuesday’s meeting was the first in person meeting the Commissioners held since March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic began.
