Kim Parker of Coldwater, also lovingly known as Dad, Paw, Poppy and jokingly known Tim or Bob Parker, age 65, went home to be with Jesus Thursday, January 6, 2022.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-7 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022 at Lighthouse of Tekonsha, 616 N. Main Street in Tekonsha.
Kim was born October 28, 1956 in Coldwater, Michigan to Stanley and Shirley (Major) Parker. He was the youngest of four children and the only boy.
Kim grew up in Union City and attended school in Union City and Coldwater. He enlisted in the U.S. Army his sophomore year of high school in 1976. He was a combat engineer and was honorably discharged in 1978. Kim was a truck driver for many years and most recently worked at the Wal-Mart DC 6043 since 2000.
Shortly after returning to Coldwater, he met Brenda Lee Brockway, who quickly became the love of his life. They were married January 15, 1981. Together they had three children: Jeremy (Heather), Stephanie and Lindsey (Mike Null). They all survive.
Although Kim was a great father, he was an even better grandfather. His seven grandchildren: Ada, Brendan, Emmy, Lillian, Maddy, Kimberlynn and Harper, will miss their “Poppy/Paw” immensely. Kim is also survived by his sisters, Judy (Reg) Sipes of Beech Grove, IN and Tonya (Lee) Angers of Odgen, UT sister-in-law, Cindy Brockway; many nieces and nephews, and special friends: Scott (Amy) Stevens and many, many more. Kim never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandy Sherrick, and special friends, Al & Shirley Bell and Karon Burdette.
Kim was a man of many hobbies and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed restoring old Coleman lanterns and was a member of the Great Lakes Area Coleman Collectors. But more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of The Parker Family Fish Fry, which he and his family hosted for 17 years over Labor Day weekend. Many memories were made, which will be cherished for years to come.
Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses.
