BRONSON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A portion of U.S. 12 near the Branch-St. Joseph County line had to be shut down Tuesday morning after a pick up truck hit a utility pole.
The crash took place at about 5:50 a.m..
Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says the impact snapped the pole and caused the power lines to fall onto the road.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
A Consumers Energy crew had to make the necessary repairs to their equipment.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department and the Bronson Fire Department were also at the scene.
U.S. 12 reopened to traffic just after 7:00 a.m..
