COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A special meeting of the Coldwater Board of Public Board of Directors has been scheduled for Monday afternoon to possibly hire the utility’s next director.
The Board interviewed leading candidate Paul Jakubczak for nearly an hour on Tuesday. Jakubczak is a native of Chicago who has spent the last seven years serving as the Director of Electric & Gas Systems in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Outgoing CBPU Director Jeff Budd said they wanted to meet him in person after his on line interview.
Jakubczak said communication with employees is important especially when disagreements take place.
He spent a couple of days getting to know the Utility and the City of Coldwater.
With a major fiber optic upgrade all but but finished, Jakubczak is optimistic about the future.
Jakubczak has over 20 years of experience in Public Power and has been employed by the cities of Gastonia, North Carolina, Rock Falls, Illinois, and Crawfordsville, Indiana.
The special meeting next Monday afternoon to possibly approve his hiring will start at 4:00 p.m.
