COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After back-to-back Interstate 8 Conference losses, the Coldwater Lady Cardinals got back on the right track Tuesday night with a 54-25 victory over the Pennfield Panthers at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium. Coldwater led 12-9 after the first quarter and 26-15 at halftime. Their defense only allowed 10 points after intermission and forced Pennfield into 36 turnovers. Elli Foley scored a game-high 17 points while Elli Anderson had 16 points and Jaelah Sloan had eight points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists. .

Pennfield won the JV game 28-14. CeCe Velazquez led Coldwater with four points.
Coldwater’s freshman team won their first game of the season as they defeated Pennfield 33-20. Ta’Viayah Hughes led Coldwater with nine points.

In the Big 8 Conference, Bronson improved to 7-4 overall and 6-1 in the conference with a 54-31 victory over Reading. Union City lost to Homer 54-34 as the Chargers record dropped to 2-7 overall and 0-5 in the Big 8 Conference. Jonesville defeated Springport 57-44 to remain undefeated in the Big 8. Quincy’s home game with Concord was postponed until February 5.
