BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Cardinal Bowlers split their matches with the Pennfield Panthers on Wednesday.
The Boys Varsity team had a hard fought night as they lost a heartbreaker 16 1/2 to 13 1/2.
Coldwater won game one 883 to 874, falling in game two 835 to 849, losing totals, 1722 to 1718. Coldwater split the Baker games, winning game one 157 to 156, dropping game two 135 to 199 losing totals 292 to 355.
Coldwater was led by Chance Cook with a 226 game, Chase Rubley a 194 and Ryan Sturgeon a 184.
The Girls Varsity team won 28-2 as they faced a short handed Panther squad who could only field three bowlers. Coldwater won both regular games 821 to 406 and 735 to 421, taking totals 1556 to 807. They also took both Baker games 140 to 77 and 163 to 74, taking totals 303 to 151. The girls were led by Ema Shidler with a 198 game, Lily Cook with a 182, Madison Kling a 160 and Ashlyn Caswell with a career high 155.
The JV Squads lost to the Panthers 19-11. Kristian Yearling led with a 168 and Lennon Swick a 156.
