COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinal gymnastics team won a hard fought meet at the Cardinal Gymnasium on Wednesday night against the three school cooperative team of Haslett United (Haslett, Williamston, and Bath High Schools.)
Coldwater outscored their opponents by a margin of 131.625 to 128.625 as they improved to 3-1 on the season.
Charlotte Calhoun had a big night for Coldwater as she won three events and the all around. Calhoun won on the uneven bars with a personal best mark of 8.7. She also won on the balance beam with her second highest mark of the season at 9.025. In spite of a fall during her second tumbling pass, Calhoun finished first in floor exercise with 8.725 points.
McKenna Hantz finished first on the vault with a score of 8.55 points.
In the all-around competition, first place honors went to Calhoun who tallied 34.6 points for all four events. Layla Schoch claimed second followed by Hantz.
Coldwater will host a youth clinic this Saturday at the Cardinal Gymnasium. Children ages two and up are invited to join the team to learn gymnastics and have a great time coached by the team. You can use this link to register your child for the clinic.
The Cardinals will host the Parma Western Panthers next Wednesday. It will be the Jillian Crist Memorial meet and the public is invited to attend, as well as bring food pantry donations as part of the event.
