ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – An Angola man was formally charged with 15 counts of child exploitation on Thursday during an initial hearing that was held via video in Steuben County Magistrates Court.
The Herald-Republican newspaper in Angola reported Thursday that 31-year-old Micheal Leister was arrested following an investigation by Angola Police into his alleged illegal use of computers at his home and at his work place.
On line Steuben County court documents indicate the alleged crimes took place during August and September of 2021.
Bail was set at $10,000 with no ten percent authorized.
Robert Hardy of Auburn, Indiana was appointed as Leister’s public defender.
The case will go through Steuben Circuit Court where a pre-trial conference was scheduled for March 7.
