UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Union City grabbed first place in the Big 8 Conference with a 57-17 victory over Bronson on Tuesday night in a battle of two Division Four teams ranked in the top ten in the State of Michigan.
Union City built a 24-0 lead after the first five matches and the Vikings were not able to recover.
After years of Bronson dominating the Branch County rivalry, it was the second time Union City had beaten Bronson this season. The Chargers defeated the Vikings 40-27 at the Coldwater Classic just before Christmas.
Union City also defeated Concord 78-3 in Tuesday night’s Big 8 Conference Quad meet while Bronson scored a 46-19 victory over Springport.
