COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Burnside Center has announced an ongoing partnership with Goodwill Industries of Central Michigan’s Heartland to bring free tax preparation to Branch County seniors.
Appointments will take place at the Burnside Center, 65 Grahl Drive, Coldwater.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program offers free income tax preparation for those with qualifying household incomes of $58,000 and under.
VITA tax return preparation sites are operated by IRS-certified volunteers. All returns are electronically submitted.
The program is designed to assist people with simple returns.
The program offers in-person appointments and drop-off service, as well as an online program where people can submit their own tax returns.
Branch County seniors and other residents who qualify for this program can call to set up an appointment at 279-6565. Walk-in appointments are not accepted.
