BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Jonesville Comets took control of the Big 8 Conference race with a 46-26 victory over the Bronson Vikings.
The Comets are in first place with a 8-1 league record. Jadyn Cary led the Vikings with 10 points. Bronson dropped to 8-6 overall and 7-3 in the Big 8 Conference.
Union City won their first Big 8 Conference game of the season as they defeated Branch County rival Quincy 50-35 at Union City’s McNett Fieldhouse.
Jordan Chard led the Chargers with a game-high 16 points. Alyssa McCavit led the Orioles with nine points.
In another Big 8 Conference game, Homer defeated Concord 50-41.
Also in girls basketball, Tekonsha lost to Litchfield 41-21. It was the Indians first game since January 14 as COVID-19 forced a stoppage of all Tekonsha athletic program events in recent weeks.
