COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater B.P.U. Board of Directors approved a contract agreement during their Wednesday evening meeting that has been worked out with Paul Jakubczak who begins serving as the utility’s new Director on March 7.
During a special meeting on January 17, the Board voted unanimously to extend an offer of employment to Jakubczak.
Board member Travis Machan, Board Secretary Nicki Luce and City Attorney Megan Angell were told to assemble and discuss possible terms with Jakubczak and prepare an employment agreement.
Angell said to the board they felt the terms in the agreement were fair.
Jakubczak in turn has accepted the agreement which calls for an initial annual salary of $160,000. Angell read a statement from Jakubczak which said he was honored to be selected for the position,
Jakubczak is a native of Chicago who has spent the last seven years serving as the Director of Electric & Gas Systems in Fort Pierce, Florida.
He has over 20 years of experience in Public Power and has been employed by the cities of Gastonia, North Carolina, Rock Falls, Illinois, and Crawfordsville, Indiana. In other business, outgoing Director Jeff Budd announced that Brian Musselman is now the interim assistant utility director. He takes over for Jim Odneal who accepted a job to become the Assistant Utility Director for Bowling Green, Ohio.
