COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A request from Mian A. Anwar to consider a Special Land Use Permit petition for two Adult Use Recreational Marihuana Grow Class C Establishment operations for the property at 430 Race Street is on the agenda for Monday’s City of Coldwater Planning Commission meeting.
City Planner Dean Walrack says in his report for Monday’s meeting that the site currently has a steel industrial building which was built in 1997 and a paved parking area.
He adds the site does not presently comply with current stormwater management and landscaping ordinances.
Walrack says the proposed two Grow Class C licenses would enable the applicant to grow up to 4,000 marijuana plants and they are presently proposing no changes to the footprint of the building or the parking area.
According to Walrack, the applicant will need to provide updated odor management controls which align with the requirements of the City’s marijuana ordinances.
The applicant must submit additional electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building plans if and when applying for the respective permits and their final floor plans need to be approved by local and State fire marshals.
As a Special Use Permission request, Walrack points out the Planning Commission may place additional requirements upon an applicant if they feel it is necessary.
