COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority is accepting applications for the “Match on Main” grant program through February 28.
“Match on Main” is a reimbursement grant program provided by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, which provides up to $25,000 in funding for eligible businesses.
Eligible small businesses have to submit an application that is submitted, administered, and managed by the local unit of government, downtown development authority, or other downtown management or community development organization where the business is located.
Funds can be used for such items as technical assistance, building renovation, permanent and semi-permanent activation of outdoor space, and general marketing and technology.
To be eligible, businesses and nonprofits must offer face-to-face goods or services, have a physical location within the downtown, and are required to have a minimum 10 percent match of funds.
The Match on Main program requires communities to administer a local application process before selecting up to two projects to submit to MEDC for consideration for funding.
Coldwater’s local criteria will be based on past recipients of local incentives, owners who have sought business support programs, businesses who are actively involved in downtown projects and programs, and businesses that align with strategic plans.
The DDA must submit its selected projects to the Michigan EDC by March 9 and the MEDC will announce the winners the week of April 11, 2022.
Applications are available on the City’s website, and by contacting Audrey Tappenden directly at atappenden@coldwater.org or 517-279-6913.
