Doris B. Ferguson, 95, of Coldwater, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Drews Place in Coldwater. A private memorial service will be held at a later date with interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
Doris was born June 15, 1926 in Coldwater, MI to Christopher & Beatrice (Corless) Mohrhardt. She attended Coldwater High School and married Smith B. Ferguson on February 23, 1946 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death, after 70 years of marriage, on January 4, 2016.
Mrs. Ferguson was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. After raising her children, she went to work at Federal Mogul until its closing.
Doris was a long time member of the Coldwater First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She helped with dinners, flowers and Bingo at Maple Lawn and played softball in younger years on a women’s league. Doris loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens and delighted in watching her grandchildren grow up.
Doris is survived by her children Ron Ferguson of Coldwater, Yvonne (Dewey) Harris III of Coldwater, her grandchildren Dewey (Mahely) Harris IV of Venice, FL, David (Beth) Harris of Canton; great grandchildren Paige (Ben) Myers of Angola, IN, Nicholas, Emmett and Leilani Harris of Canton; great-great granddaughters Amara and Avery Myers of Angola, IN; sisters in law Maybelle Mohrhardt of Spring Lake and Johanna (Ferguson) Hippensteel of Quincy. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother George Mohrhardt and sister Betty Kubasiak.
