TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) – The owner of S&S Automotive in Tekonsha is firing back at the State of Michigan after the state claimed the business failed to register as a repair facility under the Michigan Service and Repair Act.
Owner Cody Suhonen disputes claims by the state that after a December 9, 2021 inspection by the Department of State, the business was performing work on a vehicle with an expired repair facility registration that was dated April 16, 2020.
Suhonen said in a Facebook post they have taken their renewal money every year and this year it was sent out on January 2 just after a state inspection which they passed. But according to Suhonen, “the state claims it hasn’t got there yet.”
He added, “Be patient with us at this time and we will be fully functional within the week per my lawyer.”
The Michigan Department of State did issue a cease-and-desist order against the business.
