BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – 26 Branch County wrestlers earned medals on Saturday at the M.H.S.A.A. Individual Wrestling Districts and advanced to the individual regional tournaments.
Coldwater advanced two out of the Division Two Individual districts at Gull Lake. Tre Miller was fourth at 119 pounds while Hunter Munson was fourth at 160 pounds.
At the Division Four district hosted by Union City, Bronson sent 11 wrestlers onto the regional while Union City had 10 advance. District titles were won by Brayton Mears of Union City at 140, Colton Russell of Union City at 145 and Jacob Dixon of Bronson at 189. Union City’s Grady Iobe recorded a personal milestone by recording his 100th career victory.
Vikings who have punched their ticket to the regionals were Aiden Fill (103), Owen Kimmons (112), Perry Lake (119), Mason Lindsey (135), Drew Seekman (140), Devlin Duff (145), Carson Norton (152), Jacob Britten (171), Jacob Dixon (189), Matthew Blankenship (215) and Jayden Post (285).
Chargers who advanced were Logan Mears (103), Mason Hawthorne (112), Landyn Crance (125), Aiden Taylor (130), Montana Connell (135), Brayton Mears (140), Colton Russell (145), Garrett Iobe (160), Garrett Halder (189) and Grady Iobe (215).
Quincy had two individual titles among its three qualifiers at the Division Three district hosted by Adrian Madison. Jacob Reif captured the 125 pound district championship. Devin George earned the 189 pound championship. Hunter Spieth was fourth at 215 pounds.
