COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Sheriff John Pollack gave a mostly positive report to the Coldwater City Council Monday night on the performance of the new jail.
Inmates were moved into the new facility about two months ago and Pollack said they are still adjusting.
He said they were in the process of moving files and equipment out of the old jail so it can be demolished later this summer.
But the Sheriff’s Department continues to have manpower issues. Pollack said they had to go to mandatory overtime on January 24.
Pollack said his department handled over 13,000 complaints in 2021 which was their biggest year since 2014.
