COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – State-ranked Parma Western was just too much for the Coldwater Cardinals on Tuesday night as the Panthers kept their record in the Interstate 8 girls basketball standings spotless with a 54-28 victory at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
Western led 27-14 at halftime and put the game away by scoring the first 13 points of the second half.
Elli Foley led Coldwater with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Elli Anderson pulled down a team high eight rebounds.
Hillary Griffin scored a game-high 15 points for Western.

The Panthers won both of the underclassmen games by scores of 66-20 in the JV contest and 43-21 for the freshmen. Brooklin Feldbauer led Coldwater in the JV game with six points. Ava Longstreet scored 14 points for Coldwater in the freshman game.
Also in Branch County girls basketball, Bronson defeated Branch County rival Quincy 57-37. The Vikings improved to 10-3 in the Big 8 Conference and 11-7 overall. Quincy is now 1-10 in the conference and 1-12 overall.
Union City was beaten by league leading Jonesville 53-19. The Chargers are now 1-11 in the Big 8 and 3-13 overall.
