COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It took firefighters only 15 minutes to put out a fire on Wednesday night at a residence at 165 Walnut Street in Coldwater.
Coldwater Fire Marshal Steve Trall says their department along with automatic mutual aid from the Quincy Fire Department were dispatched at 7:31 p.m..
He says the first firefighters to arrive found smoke showing from the south side of the structure.
They manage to contain the fire to the kitchen. Damages were estimated at $50,000 including $40,000 to the property and $10,000 to the contents.
No injuries were reported. Crews remained on scene until 9:11 p.m..
The home is owned by Linda McKay. Trall says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
