COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners decided during their Thursday work session to bring forward a request from Sheriff John Pollack to use a local marketing firm to help them search for new employees.
Two plans were presented by Courtney Dirschell of Second Story Marketing. Commissioners decided to go with a three month plan that would cost a total of $2,400.
Pollack said his correction staff is currently down 50 percent which leaves them with just 10 officers to cover around the clock.
He says they compiled over 1,000 hours of overtime during December and January. It forced staff members to work 16 hours shifts. Road deputies had to be used to fill in vacancies.
Formal action by Commissioners is scheduled to take place next Tuesday.
