BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Bronson’s boys and girls bowling teams, along with the Coldwater girls squad, punched their tickets to next weekend’s MHSAA Team Finals following Regional action Friday.
In the Division 4 Regional hosted by East Jackson at JAX 60, both Bronson teams finished second, with the top three teams at each Regional advancing. Grass Lake won the Boys Regional with a combined pin total from 6 regular games and 3 Baker games of 3894. The Vikings had 3443, three more pins than third-place Vandercook Lake. Grass Lake also won the Girls Regional with a total of 3427. Bronson was runner-up with 3328, while Lumen Christi had 3147. Battle Creek’s M-66 Bowl will host the Division 4 Finals next weekend.
Meanwhile, in the Division 2 Regional hosted by Vicksburg at Continental Lanes in Kalamazoo, the Cardinal girls came in second with a total of 3407. Charlotte won the Regional with 3606, and Mason was third with 3302. They all move on to the Division 2 Final next weekend at Super Bowl in Canton. Coldwater’s boys team finished eighth with 3588.
And in the Division 3 Regional hosted by Niles Brandywine at Joey Armadillos, neither Quincy team was able to qualify for the state finals. The Oriole boys finished eighth with 3369 pins, while the girls team was tenth with 2879.
Regional action continues Saturday with singles competition.
