COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors approved a proposal from Fishbeck Civil Engineering of Lansing Wednesday night for the professional engineering design of parking and pathway improvements at Waterworks Park.
The cost is not to exceed $21,500.
Coldwater BPU Water and Water Resource Recovery Facility Superintendent Brian Musselman and Director Jeff Budd said the project consists of reducing the existing roadway near the Sauk River to pathway width within the park. In addition, a designated parking lot as well as additional parking will be created.
A section of the park was closed for restoration work last summer after city officials said it was devastated by natural forces and improper parking.
The partial closing caused some residents to post scathing social media comments about the decision and city officials.
