Bronson girls bowling coach Linda Hyska told the M.H.S.A.A.’s Second Half, “From our lows to our highs, they just finished it to the very end. They had moments today that (were) a downer. But you know what? Somebody else on the team picked them up, and that’s what this is – a team event today, and we all finished strong at the very end.”
Vikings senior Idalia Hernandez also told Second Half, “Starting off this year, I had faith in us – but we definitely had to work to get here. Our big saying today was ‘positive mindset equals positive outcome.’ That’s something we live by … (and) we realize that definitely gets us going. I have faith they can come back every year.”
Bronson’s boys team finished ninth in the team qualifying block and missed making the quarterfinals by 24 pins.
At the MHSAA Division Two Girls Bowling state finals in Canton, Coldwater finished 12th in the team qualifying block and did not qualify for the state quarterfinals.
Seven Branch County bowlers will compete in the individual finals on Saturday.
They are Violet Waltke and Emalyn Shidler from Coldwater, Quincy’s Jenica Kaser along with Bronson’s Shaun McAfee, Hadassah Bloom, Idalia Hernandez and Morgan McConn.
Kaser will be at the Division Three Finals at Jax 60 Lanes in Jackson.
