COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater freshman Elli Foley was recognized by league coaches with a spot on the Interstate 8 All-Conference first team.
Foley had an outstanding freshman season in leading the Cardinals to an unexpected 12 win season. Coldwater finished their league season in fifth place with a 7-7 record.
Foley led her team during league play in scoring with 12 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the floor, 38.9 percent from the 3-point line, and 79 percent from the free throw line. She also led the Lady Cardinals in league contests with 41 steals, 26 assists, and 13 blocked shots while being the second leading rebounder with 5.36 per game.
Coldwater Coach Ken Smoker says, “Elli was very deserving of this honor and it was a result of how hard she works during the off-season, her work ethic in practice, and her willingness to have a high compete level during both practices and games. It was often hard to believe that she was only 14 with what she was able to put on display on the floor.”
