COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Deb Lane will be celebrating her retirement from ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital after 45 years of service on March 31.
She began her healthcare career in 1977 as a cashier. Lane later moved to collections before landing in patient registration and has been the director of clinical operations for the last 17 years.
“When my daughter was in grade school, for career day, she was asked what her mother did at work. She told them that I talked on the phone all day and smoked cigarettes. Obviously, there have been quite a few changes throughout my days here at the hospital.”
The number of clinical offices that Deb oversees has expanded from three to 13.
Lane says, “It will be difficult to leave a place that you have called your second home for 45 years.”
Her coworkers and staff say she is a wealth of knowledge, extremely organized (the queen of Excel charts and spreadsheets), and a mother figure who listens and gives advice when asked.
Lane received Employee of the Month three times throughout her career. She has been an active member of the hospital volunteering for events, committees and projects.
She hopes to spend more time with family, volunteer throughout the community and the hospital, and spending time at garage sales during the summer months which is her favorite hobby.
