COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved bids for two major projects during their meeting on Monday night.
They approved a bid of over $344,000 from Parrish Excavating of Quincy to finish the reconstruction project at the Four Corners Park. Parrish was awarded the bid last year by the City Council for work in the park’s northeast and southeast quadrants which was Phase One of the project.
City Manager Keith Baker said work would begin in June after Strawberry Fest.
As for the northwest corner…
Baker said there is still some touch up work that needs to be finished the northeast and southeast quadrants.
The Council also approved a bid of over $1.2 million from Concord Excavating and Grading Incorporated for the Michigan/Washington/Perkins utility and road improvement project. Concord Excavating and Grading were one of six contractors to bid on the project.
The project was included in the city’s capital improvement budget and came in under the engineering estimate of $1.7 million. It is designed to improve the City’s storm water, water, wastewater, road and sidewalk infrastructure.
The city’s portion of the project of over $672,000 will be paid for through American Rescue Plan Act funds. The CBPU Board recommended the awarding of the bid to Concord Excavating during their meeting on March 2, 2022.
