Stanley Vernon Blowers, 72, of Union City, passed away unexpectedly at home Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, in Union City.
Stan was born August 20, 1949 in Gideon, Missouri to Andrew and Moddie (South) Blowers. The family moved to Michigan in 1952 and Stan graduated from Union City High School with the Class of 1969. He married the former Sharon Williams, but their union ended in divorce.
Stan worked as a bricklayer through the Local BAC (Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen) out of Lansing and did a lot of brick and concrete work around Union City. He was nicknamed “Squatty” by his friends and liked to spend his spare time hunting, fishing, boating and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed arguing with his brothers.
Stan is survived by his children, Rebecca (Bruce) Blair of Sherwood, Brent (Danielle) Blowers of Burlington and Robert “Bob” Pearson of Burlington; grandchildren Lane Blowers, Colyn Blair and Jaydn Blair; a brother, Curtis (Carol) Blowers of Burlington; his former wife, Sharon Cross of Sherwood; and his chocolate lab, Mya.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim Blowers.
