COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It was 70 years ago this past Friday, March 25, 1952, when Southern Michigan Bank and Trust purchased their current headquarters on the corner of West Pearl and South Monroe Streets in Coldwater.
Back then, the financial institution was known as The Southern Michigan National Bank.
This location offered many new banking services including drive-in banking, sidewalk teller windows, and pay as you go checking accounts.
There was also a display area in the lobby where local merchants would display appliances, farm tractors, and boats.
